Dear Readers, Firstly, please let us tell you that this is really a very....very tough task to compile the list of alltime top ten most infuential or greatest ACTRESSES / HEROINES from this great Hindi Bollywood film industry of India.

So, if you are somewhat disagree somewhere then before writing angry or abusive comments kindly try to understand few things from our point-of-view.. We are aware of following things :--

--That Nargis, Nutan and Waheeda Rehman are missing from this list..that's because we have come up with This list taking into consideration the three major factors which are - 1) Long-term popularity and mass impact 2) Looks, styling and fan following 3) number of superhit films and overall popularity

so, according to our metrics based on these factors, VaijayantiMala outshines Nargis, Nutan and Waheeda Rehman for 3rd place...

-- That Sharmila Tagore, Mumtaaz, Mala Sinha, Saira Bano, Saadhana and Tanuja are missing, for that we can only say that since we have to only pick the Alltime "BEST TEN" then at Fourth place definitely Aasha Parekh is best choice due to her dominance as the main lead actress for almost two decades in late Sixties through late seventies( from "Dil deke dekho" in 1959 to "Bin Phere hum tere" in 1979). Other actresses' successs were short-lived (less than 5 years) while Asha Parekh worked in many back to back musical superhits with Rajesh Khanna and Dharmendra over two decades. Only Hema malini could overtake her.

Dream Girl Hema Malini ruled as the number one actress from the mid -seventies to Early eighties. We really had tough time thinking about Reena Roy, Jaya Prada, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Padmini Kolhapure, Leena Chandawarkar, Rati Agnihotri, and Dimple Kapadiya but due to limited vacancies they are ommitted....because for their own different reasons they actually couldn't reach the #1 spot in their times.

Zeenat Amaan and Parveen Babi also couldn't put much challenge to Hema Malini's dominance as major lead actress as they were from same era. Though Raakhi Gulzaar did give fierce competition to Hema Malini due to her successful pairing with Amitabh in several films.

by now we have crossed 1970s seventies and early eighties. In late 70s and early eighties Rekha had taken the crown from hema malini. Rekha's rise hurt the career of Jaya Prada, Reena roy and Dimple a lot. Neetu Singh, Bindiya Goswani and Tina munim also couldn't do much wonders in their times. Rekha ruled till mid-eighties where Sridevi's beauty, dancing and comedy skills dethroned her and Sridevi took over as the number one actress from mid 80s till the end of 90s.

Madhuri Dixit took over as most successful actress in early nintees , ruled for several years and paved the way for Aishwarya by the end of 2000s. Aishwarya's beauty, dancing skills, superhit films, popularity and international recognition earns her a spot in this list of all time most popular and influential actresses of bollywood.

Sadly, the promising Divya Bharti died an untimely death.

Raveena Tondon, Manisha koirala, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and many others were always overshadowed by Madhuri and Aishwarya's popularity throughout the nineties... as per our metrics and considered factors, Aishwarya scores over Rani mukerji, priety zinta and Kajol ..her mass popularity and international recognition earns her the 9th spot in our list..

here, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra fans, at 10th spot there was a tough fight between Kareena, Priyanka and Katrina and we go for Kareena due to her long-term overall success(she is around for more than a decade) and number of (hit) films and domestic / international fan following....Priyanka loses by a very narrow margin to Kareena and if she does better in coming years then she definitely deserve a spot in this List of Top Ten All-time Greatest, Most Popular and Most Influential and Memorable heroines Ever in the History of Bollywood Film Industry of India.. Katrina is yet to earn a best actress award from filmfare or any other sponsor so she actually doesn't give much challange to Kareena.

Kangna Ranaut and Vidya Balan have the potential but they have a long way to go..

Now, I am really sorry I cannot include Deepika Padukone, Genelia, Sonam Kapoor or Anushka Sharma...NOT YET...These girls need to prove their mettle in many more coming years because competition is really tough and these top ten are really Too Strong in some way to displace from this list as its years of hard work, talent and box office success and popularity which make them extraordinory to get a spot in this very difficult-to-compile list of alltime greatest Bollywood actresses..

Now while concluding this post, I am thinking whether to mention the names of Mandakini, Shilpa Shirodkar and Somi Ali or not? :-)
