****----Analysis----****

Dear Readers, Firstly, please let us tell you that this is really a very....very tough task to compile the list of alltime top ten most infuential or greatest Actors/Heroes from this great Hindi Indian Film Industry of India. ( Trust us, It really becomes even more laborious because we have to assign rankings, select and compare the stars which are all from different Era)

So, if you are somewhat disagree somewhere then before writing angry or abusive comments kindly try to understand few things from our point-of-view.. We are aware of following things :--

-- We are aware that Prithviraj Kapoor, Motilal, Himanshu Rai, Bharat Bhushan, Ashok Kumar, Balraj Sahni, Guru Dutt and Raj kapoor are missing from this list..that's because we have come up with This list taking into consideration the three major factors which are -1) Long-term popularity and mass impact 2) Looks, styling , fan following 3) number of superhit films, stable and consistent box office successes and overall popularity..

so, according to our metrics based on these factors, Dev Anand outshines Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor for 2nd place...

Also, Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor didn't hide from the world that their first love was 'film direction' and not 'acting'.. So, We will consider adding these two legends' names in the list whenever we create a list of most influential Indian Film Industry directors of all time.

-- We are also aware that Shashi kapoor and Shammi Kapoor are missing here, for that we can only say that since we have to only pick the Alltime "BEST TEN" then at Third place definitely Rajesh Khanna is best choice due to his SuperStardom and 15 consecutive superhits..Khanna's rise had actually almost finished the career of shammi kapoor, joy mukherjee, vishvajeet and many others in late Sixties through early seventies . Only Dharmendra was able to stand strong and stay afloat to survive in the Rajesh Khanna Hurricane..

by now we have crossed 1950s , 1960s, and early 1970s seventies

We think very few should be surprised to see Amitabh there and Dharamendra is there as he is alltime most handsome hero of Indian Film Industry ever. till date. Due to Dharmendra's long time popularity we preferred him over other equally successful contemporary actors Rajendra Kumar, Raj-Kumar and Sunil Dutt..

We really had tough time thinking about Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt but due to limited vacancies they are omitted....because for their own different reasons they actually couldn't reach the #1 spot in their times.

Vinod khanna, Shatrughan Sinha and many others were always overshadowed by Amitabh Bachchan's SuperStardom throughout the seventies and mid-eighties... though Amol Palekar had managed to sneak a Filmfare best actor award in 1979-80 even when Amitabh Superstsrdom was at its peak...

Feroz Khan, Sanjay Khan, Raj Babbar, Vinod Mehra and Sachin Pilgaonkar's success was very limited and short-lived.

now while picking the number# 1 hero from the 1980s decade,As per our metrics and considered factors, Mithun-Da scores over Rishi kapoor and Anil Kapoor too..his mass fan following earns him the 6th spot in our list.. We think Jeetendra too loses to Mithun by a very narrow margin for 6th spot. Jeetendra didn't enjoy such an enormous fan following ever.

We have to omit Ethereal actors of parallel cinema like Anupam Kher, Nasiruddin shah, Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Paresh Rawal and Nana Patekar as well because this list is about the main lead "Heroes" of commercial cinema; and also because, once again, we have come up with This list taking into consideration the three major factors which are - 1) Long-term popularity and mass impact 2) Looks, styling , fan following 3) number of superhit films, stable and consistent box office successes and overall popularity..

Few will object the inclusion of "Three Khans" at 7-8-9 positions as everyone knows they are dominating the industry for past two decades.

It is also a fact that the Govinda kind of cinema(David Dhawan films co-starring Karisma Kapoor) couldn't actually take the mainstream path due to the Khan dominance throughout 1990s and mid 2000s.

Ajay Devgan, Though A very talented actor, Also couldn't do much wonders due to khan dominance throughout the 1990s. John Abraham, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor's successes are also limited.

here, HRITHIK ROSHAN fans, at 10th spot there was a tough fight between Hrithik and Akshay Kumar and we go for Akshay due to his long-term overall success(more on that is posted HERE) and his number of (hit) films and domestic / international fan followings....Hrithik loses by a very narrow margin to Akki and if he does better in coming years then he definitely deserves a spot in this List of Top Ten All-time Greatest, Most Popular, successful and Most Influential and Memorable Actors Ever in the History of Hindi Film Industry of India..

Now, dear young School/College going readers, We are really sorry we cannot include Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor or Imran / Emraan as yet...These guys need to prove their mettle in many more coming years because competition is really tough and these top ten are really Too Strong in some way to displace from this list because its years(or in some cases, even decades) of hard work, very much talent, a little luck, stable and consistent box office successes and long term lasting popularity which make them extraordinory to get a spot in this very difficult-to-compile list of top ten alltime greatest and most successful and influential Indian Film Industry actors in the past 100 years History of Hindi Cinema of India..
